Tuesdays at Venus Room
Tuesdays at the Venus Room are pretty busy! It’s kind of cool to see everybody getting themselves ready for their work week. Especially now that people are working from home, there’s so many more people available to be seen during the day which is also really nice. It was super cold out but the subway was more dead than I expected for the morning commute, especially after congestion pricing had been implemented just yesterday!
Anyway, I got into work and had a package delivered from Sunday for more chucks for the carts. I put those away and did a quick set up, which includes setting up my barbicide, giving everything a good wipe down and making sure my wax was ready before I started taking clients!
My first four appointments of the day were brow waxes . Just regular wax and sculpts! Valentina wasn’t in so no threading appointments for today. I practice when I can, but let’s just say it’s still a WIP (sweating).
My first client actually brings her boyfriend and they get their service done together! I love that. Also, since it’s the new year, I’ll be saying “How was your Holiday?” and “Happy New Year!” about 1 million times for the next two weeks haha!
So yea, my first two clients were a couple and they typically do not get any styling done (which means styled with make up) at the end of their service. Obviously her boyfriend doesn’t get it done as men typically don’t, but she doesn’t get it done either! So I decided to use one of my brow code oils and massage it into the brows at the end for a nice little relaxing touch. I’m thinking of permanently incorporating that into the end of service.
My next client was a new client who found us on TikTok! She said she typically cleans her brows up at home, but had one thinned out and was hoping that I could reset the shape . After a quick map and wax, she said she loved it! That’s just the most satisfying feeling when a client can’t stop smiling over seeing their brows!
My fourth brow sculpt was another regular. She is such a vibe! We always laugh and catch up so the time flies! She was in to get her brows done for her birthday. She was actually going to a restaurant that night in Queens that I can’t wait to go to! The next time I see her she’s gonna tell me if it was worth it.
After that, I set up for lashes because my next client was a full set of Classic lash extensions. She gets a CC curl Cat eye 12 to 8 mm. Very cutesy very demure! She’s another regular who I absolutely love!! (I love all my clients lol)
Anyway, on her way out she booked for microblading with Valentina for the following Monday. She had previous work done a very long time ago, so this will be a cover-up as well as pretty much a new service! I cannot wait to see how those turn out and will be posting pics about that. Valentina is such a talented permanent make up artist. I perform permanent make up services as well, but for the time being I have bookings for my permanent make up, turned off so that I can focus on developing her while I work on other things.
This next phase of my business, I really dedicated myself to investing in my staff and that’s exactly what I’m doing and Valentina is totally worth it. She is such a gem and I am so lucky to have such talent working with me.
I did a little inventory and placed an Amazon order. I also need to restock on PMU supplies so I made a plan to head to the tattoo supply down in Soho. The Tina Davies needles we like to use are always sold out so hopefully I will find them down there!
My last client of the day canceled because she was sick. It was supposed to be lash extensions, so instead I headed out to get my nails done through Beauty Right Back, an unlimited Beauty subscription company that Venus Room is actually a member of.
We’re closed on Wednesdays, but I will still be blogging what I do for the studio on a day off! There’s a ton of administrative work to do especially now that we’re in a new year.
Ok dolls till next time! x
